Starting part-time with the opportunity to obtain full-time hours depending on the client needs and increase in business.
We are looking to hire a professional, reliable, and trustworthy IC/sitter to care for animals/homes while their owners are away.
We are looking for someone who wants to help owners provide the highest level of care for their animals/homes when they can't do it themselves.
You should have experience working with animals and be knowledgeable about the general needs of various animals.
You will be responsible for offering general care for a range of animals, along with walking and cleaning up after dogs of every breed and size.
You should love the outdoors and enjoy playing with pets who are energetic.
Our pet sitting service strives to provide high-level care while offering our IC/Sitters independence and a flexible schedule.
The IC/Sitter must follow the Client Contract or Client's instructions for taking care of the animals or home.
Some of the IC/Sitter's responsibilities include making meals for animals as instructed by Clients, reporting behavioral issues to Clients, as well as playing with animals to encourage mental and physical stimulation.
To be successful as a IC/Sitter, you should be knowledgeable of animal behavior and adept at caring for all kinds of animals/homes.
Ultimately, an outstanding IC/Sitter should demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
IC/Sitter
Responsibilities:
1.
Meeting with Clients to gather pertinent pet care information, discuss sitting duties, and terms and conditions on the Client Contract.
Meet with potential clients to secure business, advertise services provided and explain the details of how sitting works.
2.
Following the instructions given by Clients on the Client Contract or notes left by Clients.
3.
Providing animals with food and fresh water based upon client instructions, which may be very detailed and must be followed exactly as given.
4.
Providing animals with attention and affection as they will allow (refer to Client Contract).
5.
Administering medication/supplements to animals according to the instructions provided by Clients.
6.
Cleaning out litter boxes, cages, and aquariums, as well as changing rodents' beddings.
7.
Respect clients' homes and personal property when on-site offering sitting services.
Cleaning up accidents and messes that may be made by animals.
8.
Maintaining the standards of the home as they were left by the Client.
Making sure everything is well kept, clean, and security measures are in place.
Leaving keys where instructed.
9.
Doing a check of the home and outdoor area for any issues, damage, etc.
that may hinder sitting services.
Making Client/MSAHS aware of these.
10.
Using only what the Client gave permission to while in the home.
11.
Exercising animals as needed, which includes taking dogs out for regular walks.
Preventing any issues during walks by being aware of animals behavior towards other animals/people.
Being present and observing animals while outdoor and indoor to ensure safety of the pet and noting if they used the bathroom.
12.
Providing regular updates to Clients and MSAHS, which include communicating with them telephonically or via email as well as sending video clips and photos.
13.
Promptly notifying Clients/MSAHS of animal's illnesses, injuries, or emergencies that may occur.
14.
Accompanying animals to the veterinary for check-ups or vaccinations.
15.
Arriving to the sitting service on time and staying for the allocated amount of time.
16.
Provide additional customer service as requested by clients, which may include picking up mail, watering plants and opening and closing blinds or curtains.
17.
Check and follow schedule provided by the manager/owner and report any conflicts or issues to manager/owner as soon as possible but at least 72 hours in advance of scheduled sitting appointment.
Job Skills and
Qualifications:
Required:
1.
High school diploma or GED.
2.
Be at least 18 years old 3.
The ability to care for different animals/homes of various sizes and breeds.
4.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
5.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
6.
Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and reliable phone service.
7.
A love for animals and able to be gentle yet assertive, when necessary.
8.
Patient, reliable, professional, and trustworthy.
9.
Ability to work varying, flexible schedules.
10.
Pass criminal background check if requested.
11.
Ability to follow detailed instructions to the letter.
Preferred:
1.
Proven experience working as a animal/home sitter.
2.
Ability to work overnight hours, weekends, and holidays.
3.
Working knowledge of animal behavior.
4.
Experience training animals or veterinary.
5.
The ability to perform animal CPR and first aid.
Compensation and
Benefits:
1.
70% base commission for each total service provided at or below $300 in one service period and 60% base commission for each total service provided above $300 in one service period.
2.
An additional 10% will be given for any certifications obtained during the Agreement period.
3.
$10 for each new client Meet and Greet.
4.
$40 referral credit for each new client the Independent Contractor brings in.
5.
Entitled to 100% of client tips earned.
6.
IC/Sitter will be responsible for paying all reasonable and necessary travel or related expenses associated with providing services but can write off mileage and other expenses on taxes.
7.
Flexible, part-time schedule.
Potential for weekends and holidays off.
Note:
Mid Shore Animal and Home Sitting, LLC is under no obligation to pay IC/Sitter for any services until Mid Shore Animal and Home Sitting, LLC has been paid for the services.
IC/Sitter further expressly accepts the risk that it will not be paid for work performed if Mid Shore Animal and Home Sitting, LLC, for whatever reason, is not paid.
